Continuing Education Presentation: Iranian Psychological Association of America – Provided 2-CEU course on emerging conceptualization of Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.  Included current research on biological and psychological aspects of CPTSD, as well as treatment recommendations.

In Service Presentation:  WISE and Healthy Aging – Instructed Pre and Post-Doctoral Interns on incorporation of Complex Trauma treatment in their  treatment approaches with clinic clientele.

In Service Presentation:   Gateways Hospital – Seclusion and Restraints One Hour Face-To-Face Evaluation.  Instructed RN Supervisors on criteria for S & R and process of face-to-face evaluations.

Seminar Presenter:  Iranian Psychological Association of America – “Use of Conceptual Models in Psychotherapy: Making Therapy More Effective.”  This presentation provided Continuing Education Units for psychologists.

In-service Presentation: Conducted an in-service on psychological assessment tools and theoretical models and their clinical uses to interns at the WISE and Healthy Aging/Center for Healthy Aging.

In-Service Presentation: Presented an in-service on understanding and new approaches for the de-escalation of aggressive behavior on an in-patient unit at Gateways Hospital.

Mar. 2004

In-Service Presentation: Conducted an in-service for Huntington Senior Care Network staff on assessment and response to concerns with working with the mentally ill.

Jan. 2003

In-service Presentation: Conducted an in-service for Older Adult Services staff on diagnosis, conceptualization, and treatment development and implementation for culturally different clients.

In-service Presentation: Conducted an in-service for Pacific Clinics on chronic mental illness and potential experiences of clients who are hospitalized in psychiatric wards.

Poster Session: Presented poster session for annual meeting of the American Geriatric Society (Nashville, Tennessee).  Poster based on results from pilot study on aging and adaptability.

July 1999

Guest Presenter: Presented at meeting of Amit Women’s group on topic of Aging and Adaptability.  Provided most recent findings on the aging process and different theories regarding the role of adaptability in healthy aging.

Development of scale to assess areas of attitudes and behaviors pertaining to self-harming.

Social Activity, Adaptability and Well-Being Among Older Adults – Published

Arizona Geriatric Society

Article addresses significant relationships between well-being, adaptability, and social activity. Relationships indicate a need for multi-dimensional treatment approach when addressing well-being among older adults.

2000

Dissertation – Social Activity, Adaptability and Well-Being Among Older Adults

Dissertation examined the relationship between modes of adaptability, well-being, and social activity in an Older Adult population.  Duties included data collection, analysis, and designing survey instruments.

Pilot Study of Sources of Life Satisfaction and Adaptability in Older Adulthood – Published International Journal of Stress Management

This pilot study sought determination if modes of adaptability shift based on life style, physical limitations, and social opportunity.  Duties included review of literature, data collection, entry, and analysis, and the design of the survey instrument.

Scale Development on Attitudes Toward Gender Roles

Worked with student group in development of a scale measuring attitudes toward gender roles.  Responsibilities included item generation, design of survey instrument, sampling population, data entry, and data analysis.

Priming Effects in Education

Study involved 7th grade elementary school children who were exposed to stimuli to assess improvement of analytic performance.  Duties included researching literature, data collection, entry, and analysis, and the design of survey instruments.
